THE Youth Department of the Amakom SDA Church has joined hands with the Personal Ministries of the same church to embark on a cleanup campaign at Akwatialine in Kumasi.
The campaign was part of activities marking the 40th anniversary of the Pathfinder Club of the church.
It is also part of an outreach programme for their upcoming evangelistic campaign to be held at the Akwatialine area by the church.
The Akwatialine area is known to have majority of its residents being Muslims and the campaign is aimed at sharing the gospel with the residents.
Elder John Ofori Frimpong who led the campaign told GhanaSDA.com that participants of the cleanup were mainly the youth who devoted their time to desilt choked gutters, sweep the filthy streets and educated the residents of the need to keep their surroundings clean.
This to him was to support the best environmental and sanitation practices.
He further disclosed that a health screening would take place on September 16, 2017 to precede in the buildup to the 10-day evangelistic campaign.
According to UNICEF, improved sanitation could help do away or reduce diarrhea and preventable diseases.
